General Information

We are dedicated to preserving the Loxahatchee River and its natural habitats, by designing innovative wastewater solutions, furthering river research efforts and fostering environmental stewardship.

Loxahatchee River Environmental Center

The Loxahatchee River Environmental Center traces the Loxahatchee River from its headwaters in Palm Beach County, through the cypress dominated floodplain in the Wild & Scenic segment, into the central embayment, and finally out through Jupiter Inlet into the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Stream. Sea Quest Summer Camp

Sea Quest, offered by a partnership between the Friends of the Loxahatchee River and The Nature Conservancy, is designed to expose and teach children about the freshwater, estuarine, and marine ecosystems that comprise the Loxahatchee River.

What's New
Spoto's Joins Oyster Reef Restoration Project
Spoto's Oyster Bar in Palm Beach Gardens joins the effort to rebuild oyster reefs in the Loxahatchee River by recycling their oyster shells.
Community Foundation Awards $10,600 to River Center
The Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, Inc. recently awarded a $10,600 grant to The River Center toward the creation of the new environmental center's Wild & Scenic River exhibit.
