Serves as the federal partner of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP), including the 'North Palm Beach County Plan', which directly benefits the Loxahatchee River Also has regulatory oversight of projects which affect wetlands, submerged lands and beaches.

Monitors rainfall, ground water levels, salinity and flows in the Loxahatchee River watershed.

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service

Provides biological review of U.S. Corps of Engineers permits and is responsible for fishery and habitat protection in coastal waters.

Sets federal air and water quality standards, provides funding to FDEP for Section 319 grant program.
