Public involvement is paramount to the preservation of the river, and the Loxahatchee River District has created many ways you can become involved - including a volunteer water quality monitoring program.
Local residents assist scientists from the WildPine Lab by collecting weekly water quality samples at designated sites within the Loxahatchee River estuary. This data is then compiled and analyzed to provide in-depth understanding of the river's fluctuating conditions, as well as produce a monthly river water quality report.
If you are interested in becoming involved with the Loxahatchee River Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Network, please contact the David Porter at the WildPine Lab, (561) 747-5700, ext. 127 or .
